《聪明颖悟》乃是王宏江先生所创作的十二生肖图组中最令人欢喜的一幅作品。
　　作品以两棵枝叶相交的古树表现苍茫深厚的森林。林中几只调皮的猴子对着树上的累累硕果大动脑筋，或攀枝采摘、或翘首以待、或仰头深思，姿态灵活各异，让人顿生喜爱、敬佩之心。作者以简洁的黑、黄两色布置全局，黄色高古纯净、黑色浑实滋润；用笔浑厚劲透，张弛有度；留白干脆精炼，给人无限遐想，动植物浑然一体，将森林的幽远宁静、博大森然与猴子的千伶百俐、矫捷敏锐刻画得入木三分。整幅作品古朴高格，禅意深蕴，逸韵悠扬。

　　The art work represents the boundless and profound forest with two old trees whose branches are intertwined together. There are several naughty monkeys get their brains in gear trying to get the rich fruits on the trees. Some of them are climbing and picking. Some are on the tiptoe of expectation. Some are facing up and pondering. People would love and admire their agileness and various postures as soon as they see the painting. The author simply used black and yellow to paint the whole work. Yellow is primitive and pure. Black is solid and moistening. The use of brush is thick and vigorous. The blank-leaving is straightforward and refined which would let loose your imagination. The animals and the plants are like a unified entity. It portrayed the profound and tranquil forest and the extremely bright and clever monkeys incisively. The entire work is primitive and elegant which makes people meditate.
